Get to know our method! The CultureX Method™ is a structured five-step process that transforms translation into strategic cultural adaptation.

  • 🔍 Step 1: Assess

Cultural & linguistic assessment of audience, language, reading level, context, and barriers.

  • 🧠Step 2: Align

Revise content for scientific accuracy, clarity, nuance, & application feasibility.

  • 🌍 Step 3: Adapt

Translate & culturally adapt content to ensure functional, culturally responsive communication — not literal translation.

  • 🧪Step 4: Test

Validate adapted materials through community input & educator insight to ensure the message is understood, trusted, and actionable.

  • 🚀Step 5: Implement

Embed adaptation into training, systems, & long-term strategy.

Why Institutions Choose CultureX

Institutions invest heavily in research, programming, and public-facing materials.

When those materials reach culturally and linguistically diverse communities, impact depends on more than translation.

It depends on alignment.

The Structural Gap

Traditional translation models are designed for linguistic conversion — not institutional implementation.

They often:

• Prioritize literal accuracy over functional clarity
• Separate language from cultural and behavioral context
• Overlook audience literacy and processing differences
• End at document delivery rather than implementation support

The result is a measurable gap between information and action:

• Reduced engagement and participation
• Lower program uptake
• Compliance and policy risks
• Inefficient use of institutional resources
• Persistent public health and education disparities

Communication is only effective when it is understood, trusted, and acted upon.

How CultureX Operates Differently

CultureX integrates cultural strategy into institutional communication systems.

Rather than functioning as a transactional translation vendor, CultureX works across:

• Scientific and technical content review
• Cultural and behavioral alignment
• Audience-informed adaptation
• Implementation planning and training
• Systems-level communication design

The CultureX Method™ operationalizes this process — from assessment to implementation — ensuring communication strategies are measurable, scalable, and aligned with institutional goals.

CultureX is not a document vendor.
It is a strategic partner in culturally aligned communication

About the Founder

Fernanda Ariza, MS, is a bilingual cultural strategist and founder of CultureX Consulting. Her work operates at the intersection of science, public health systems, curriculum design, and multilingual institutional communication.

Trained in biomedical research and shaped by over seven years of community-based public health leadership in Illinois, Fernanda brings an interdisciplinary lens to how institutions design and deliver information. She has studied and worked within higher education systems in both Mexico and the United States, developing academic fluency and professional precision across institutional spaces.

As the only statewide Cultural Specialist for Illinois’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed), she advised leadership teams on cultural criteria frameworks, curriculum adaptation systems, digital communication strategy, and workforce certification development — strengthening statewide implementation of SNAP-Ed’s programs across hospitals, schools, and community centers.

Earlier in her career, she worked directly with predominantly Spanish-speaking communities as a SNAP-Ed Community Worker in Joliet and SNAP-Ed Regional Educator in Will & Kankakee counties, delivering culturally aligned health programming, supporting coalition initiatives, and facilitating engagement between institutions and the communities they serve.

Her experience also includes legal and regulatory interpretation in immigration and real estate proceedings, reinforcing her fluency in high-stakes institutional environments.

Her background also includes clinical quality control experience in a high-volume genomics laboratory and the authorship of scientific and institutional documentation in both English and Spanish, strengthening her fluency in research environments and technical communication.

Fernanda understands how scientific knowledge is generated, how institutions operationalize it, and how communities interpret, trust, and apply it in real-world settings. She integrates research literacy, trauma-informed and learner-centered principles, and cultural intelligence to ensure communication is not only translated — but understood, trusted, and applied.

CultureX was built from this realization:
translation alone is not enough. Cultural alignment determines impact.
